Ted Lightburn, Science Department Chair, Hands-to-Work Director – Students from The Darrow School will demonstrate air pressure concepts through a hands-on demonstration where children will make a Cartesian Diver that they can take home with them. These Darrow Juniors in high school have recently completed a unit on gas pressure. They will be able to explain how pressure and volume are related in an experiment that they can re-create almost anywhere with easily found materials. Suitable for all ages.

Learn how to identify plants growing in the Berkshires year-round. Through field observations, we will learn the most common trees and shrubs in our forests and strategies to identify herbs even in the depths of winter. The Berkshires is a hotbed of outstanding musicians. From worldwide legends to amazing regional and local talent, the area serves as home to an incredible array of eclectic performers. An outstanding group of these talented musicians will take the stage at The Colonial to pay tribute and celebrate the great songs and amazing musical career of the legendary Jackson Browne.

This one time concert will feature a mix of incredible Berkshire musicians, including: Steve Ide, Bobby Sweet, Matt Cimini, Ed Moran, Jack Waldheim, Diane Wieland, Rob Sanzone, Bruce Mandel, Jeanne Laurin, Danny Hamilton, Dave “Burnt” Bacon and more, plus a special guest appearance by legendary Northampton troubadour Ray Mason.
