His touring schedule today remains as busy as ever, performing regularly with artists such as Johnny Winter, Buddy Guy and many others.
New York City bluesman Popa Chubby is at the forefront of modern blues. His incredible guitar work and vocals have transformed him into one of the genres most popular figures. He has released over dozen albums in the U.S. and Europe and currently records for the prestigious Blind Pig blues label. His album, Back To New York City has received rave reviews from critics and fans alike. Acquiring his name due to his imposing figure at over 300 pounds, Popa Chubby’s live performances are always memorable and he describes them as “kind of like Jimi Hendrix meets Robert Johnson.” He tours continuously throughout the U.S. and Europe and will also perform in India shortly after his performance at The Colonial.
The Berkshire based Arthur Holmes Blues Band will open the show. Lead singer and guitarist Holmes is quickly establishing himself throughout the northeast as an outstanding guitarist and singer and the band has gained a reputation as one of the hottest blues acts in the region.
